At Hartley Community Daycare Center (HCDC), our team of caregivers is the heart of our center. Each staff member undergoes extensive training to ensure they provide the highest standard of care for every child. They are certified in CPR and First Aid, trained as Mandatory Reporters, and follow Universal Precautions to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Our team also completes specialized training in nutrition through the CACFP Steps to Success and Meaningful Mealtimes, along with Essentials and Passport to Early Childhood Education coursework. As a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program-wide center, our staff focuses on fostering positive behaviors and social-emotional development, particularly in infants and toddlers. Many of our staff members are pursuing additional certifications and advanced training pathways, ensuring we remain leaders in early childhood education.

While working at the daycare I learned that the environment you show and create with children is a big thing that’s when you greet them, calling their names asking them how they are making them feel seen or simply by saying bye and letting them know that you’ll see them again. One thing I enjoy most about my job is truly seeing how they evolve and express themselves through creativity, communication, or simply celebrating little successes. As well as building great communication and bonds with parents understanding them. Understanding their kids while giving their children the best environment to keep them while they work without having them to worry or simply letting them know how positive their children are.
